Welcome
Hello! I’m Charlotte Hopley, a certified dog trainer and the owner of The Howlin Hive Dog Boarding in Pitt Meadows, BC. I’m so excited to officially introduce Lottie Hopley Training, where I am offering individual training sessions and group classes designed to help dogs and their people thrive together.
In this photo you’ll meet my three wonderful girls — Peppa, Peggy, and Pearl. They are all incredibly well-trained and share a strong connection with me, which reflects the kind of relationship I strive to help you build with your own dog through training.
My Training Philosophy
At Lottie Hopley Training, I believe that every dog learns best through connection, clarity, and confidence. My relationship-based approach transforms everyday communication into a language your dog understands, so behaviours become reliable and consistent. I focus on real results you can see in real life, with training that builds trust, encourages curiosity, and strengthens the bond between you and your dog.
Whether you’re welcoming a new puppy or leveling up an older companion, my methods help dogs feel confident, focused, and excited to learn — and help you feel empowered, supported, and proud of your progress together. I prioritize techniques that encourage dogs to think, engage, and feel confident. I specialize in puppy workshops, basic obedience training for dogs of all ages, and one-on-one training sessions at my facility. I’m here to support you with practical guidance, patience, and encouragement every step of the way. Training isn’t magic — it’s practice, consistency, and willingness to grow together — and I’m here to help you do just that.

Communication Comes First
Dogs are constantly reading our body language, tone, and energy. I teach you how to speak in a way your dog understands effortlessly — so cues become clear, expectations are predictable, and your dog thrives in day-to-day life.
Trust & Connection
True training isn’t just about obedience — it’s about strengthening the bond between dog and handler. When your dog trusts you, they’re more eager to focus, more resilient in new situations, and more joyful in your company.
Learning Is a Journey
Every dog is unique, and every family has different goals. I meet you where you are — whether you’re starting with a nervous puppy or refining skills with a teenager dog. Training should feel empowering, encouraging, and achievable.
Practical, Real-Life Skills
My priority is to give you tools that work outside of class. My training is designed to master commands, enhance problem solving skills and prepare for and practice real world scenarios. It emphasizes reliability, confidence and problem-solving skills. Objectives include mastering commands, developing fun tricks, and ensuring calm behaviour in public settings.
Training Programs Offered
Puppy Foundation Programs
- Puppies must complete each level of group training classes before advancing to next course (puppy socials not included).
Puppy Social Classes
- Offered periodically throughout the year depending on demand.
Puppy Foundation Group Training Classes (Duration 4 weeks)
- A class series focused on early obedience and life skills focusing on basic commands and socialization.
Puppy Intermediate Skills Group Training Classes (Duration 5 weeks)
- A class series focused on reinforcement of skills with added distractions and socialization.
Puppy Advanced Skills Group Training Classes (Duration 6 weeks)
- A class series focused on advanced commands, impulse control, and real world application.

Basic Obedience Classes
- Must complete level one course before advancing to level 2
LEVEL 1 : Intermediate Obedience (Duration 4 weeks)
- This level is to reinforce basic commands and introduce new skills
LEVEL 2 : Advanced Obedience (Duration 5 weeks)
- This level is to build on learned commands, enhancing focus and reliability
Essential Skills Program (6 weeks of training)
This course is designed to master commands, enhance problem solving skills and prepare for and practice real world scenarios. If enrolled in a daycare and training program, some sessions may be off site with a trainer. This course emphasizes reliability, confidence and problem-solving skills. Objectives include mastering commands, developing fun tricks, and ensuring calm behaviour in public settings.
Flexible Training Options
All the above training programs can be offered as board and train options.
Whether you prefer group classes, individualized training, or immersive programs, there’s an option designed to support you and your dog.
